About the Commonwealth Song Contest
The CSC is open to all residents and nationals of the 54 Commonwealth Nations. It launched in 2018 as a free to enter event. It was very successful and received thousands of song entries. Finalists and Winners were chosen using a voting system where all entrants and registered songwriters from every country were able to vote for theiir favourite songs,and the results and winners can be seen on this website.
All songwriters and artists who are residents or nationals of the 54 Commonwealth of Nations countries are eligible to take part and represent their country. The event showcases the music, talent and culture of the participating nations, and aims to promote understanding of the cultural differences, the geography and the diversity of the nations, their music and their cultures. Everyone in the Commonwealth is welcome to enter the contest - both beginners and professionals. There is no age limit. Songwriters can record and perform their song themselves and enter their own demos, or they can get other people to sing or record their song for them. Bands and singers can perform their own original compositions or perform songs written by friends or music partners. Schools and colleges are very welcome to take part and are encouraged to enter songs. Music producers, TV and Radio producers, music industry professionals and sponsors are welcome to contact us to discuss partnerships.
PARTNERS AND ENTRY PROCESS: The prestigious and well known songwriting event "The UK Songwriting Contest" ((launched in association with The BRIT Trust in 2002) support the CSC and have agreed to provide the essential expertise and experience needed to supervise song entries, selection processes, voting and online systems. We also work closely with the popullar international song submission platform SubmitMySong.com for entry forms and back up. We have recently agreed an arrangement with Music Aid Records to release and distrubute an international album of winning CSC songs with proceeds going to support good causes in Commonwealth Nations.
