SONGWRITER'S VOTING CLOSED - 16th June
Over 20 thousand songs were submitted to the Commonwealth Song Contest between 2018-2022. Seven Grand Finalists from Australia, Canada, Malta, Malaysia, Saint Lucia, Singapore and the United Kingdom were chosen to represent their countries. 15,630 people took part in the initial public round of voting and over 10 thousand songwriters affiliated with the UK Songwriting Contest and the Guild of International Songwriters and Composers were invited to take part in the second and final round of voting. All voting has now ended and the 2022/23 Commonwealth Song contest winner is due to be announced shortly.

Belle Sisoski from MALAYSIA finished in first place after the initial round of PUBLIC VOTING with her song Stop Your Games.
Emmanuel Carlos St. Omer from SAINT LUCIA took second place in the PUBLIC VOTE with his song Blame Me.
Terra Spencer from CANADA secured third place in the PUBLIC VOTE with her song Brick and Mortar.

PUBLIC VOTING HIGHLIGHTS: Public Voting for the 2022/23 Commonwealth Song Contest started on the 9th May with Emma Cutajar from MALTA taking a strong early lead, closely followed by Terra Spencer representing CANADA. These two countries remained neck and neck for several days until Emmanuel Carlos St. Omer from SAINT LUCIA slowly gained momentum and overtook them to claim first-place on the 14th May. However, on May 17th, Belle Sisoski from MALAYSIA burst through and replaced SAINT LUCIA in first place. CANADA and MALTA remained in joint third place with less than 1 percentage point separating them between the 19th and the 24th of May with both countries gaining international support in equal measure. On the 24th of May Terra Spencer finally managed to inch ahead securing third place for CANADA which was solidified throughout the remainder of the public voting round. As the open round of voting drew to a close, Belle Sisoski maintained her lead, while MALTA, the UNITED KINGDOM, AUSTRALIA and SINGAPORE were closely contested for fourth place.

This second private round of voting ended on the 16th of June. The Commonwealth Song Contest will soon be announcing the overall winner of the event.
