7TH JULY - SALTWIRE - CANADA

2022 UK Songwriting Contest Finalist Terra Spencer wins the Commonwealth Song Contest (CSC) representing Canada with her song, 'Brick and Mortar'. This song, which has captured the hearts of thousands, tells the story of an old cotton mill in Windsor - Nova Scotia which played an important part in her childhood. As the roof caved in on this 140 year old building, Terra's moving song, 'Brick and Mortar' explores the gentle art of saying goodbye.  Read the full article here and listen to the winning song here.

24TH MAY - DBS TELEVISION - SAINT LUCIA

​Emmanuel Carlos St. Omer representing Saint Lucia as one of the seven 2022/23 Commonwealth Song Contest Grand Finalists is interviewed on DBS Television. Carlos initially submitted his song into the UK Songwriting Contest in 2020. The song Blame Me has benefited from widespread national and international support securing second place in the initial round of public voting.

22ND MAY - SALTWIRE - CANADA

​Singer Songwriter Terra Spencer from Nova Scotia is chosen to represent Canada in the 2022/23 Commonwealth Song contest with her song, 'Brick and Mortar'. Terra Spencer was a finalist in the 2022 UK Songwriting Contest and winner of the International Songwriting Awards. All songs submitted to the UKSC get automatic entry into the Commonwealth Song Contest and optional entry in to the International Songwriting Awards. Listen to Terra's song here.

21ST MAY - NEW STRAITS TIMES / DAYAK DAILY / NEW SARAWAK TRIBUNE - MALAYSIA 

​Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Belle Sisoski enjoys widespread social media support and national media coverage for her song, 'Stop Your Games' which was re-recorded for the 2022/23 Commonwealth Song Contest. Belle was a Semi-Finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest in 2021. Listen to her Commonwealth Song Contest song here.

Emma Cutajar representing Malta receives extensive media coverage across all major national news outlets in her home country. Emma was nominated for the Commonwealth Song Contest by the UK Songwriting Contest following her performance in that event which saw her win the Under 18s category in 2021. 1ST JUNE - 16TH JUNE: Over 10 thousand registered songwriters and music business professionals affiliated with the UK Songwriting Contest (UKSC) and the Guild of International Songwriters and Composers (GISC) are invited to take part in the final closed round of voting for the 2022/23 Commonwealth Song Contest. 
31ST MAY: The public round of voting closes for the 2022/23 Commonwealth Song Contest. 15,630 people from around the world vote for their favourite song between the 9th-31st May in an initial open round of public voting. Belle Sisoski representing Malaysia comes out in the lead followed by Emmanuel Carlos St. Omer from Saint Lucia in second place and Terra Spencer representing Canada in third place.

4TH MAY 2023: The Commonwealth Song Contest returns for a second year to coincide with the coronation of King Charles III. Seven grand finalists are chosen to represent their countries form over 20 thousand songs submitted to the contest between 2018-2022.
